9 Days of Gratitude and Thankfulnessنموونە
God is who He Says He is, and He Doesn’t Change.
In Malachi 3:6, God declares, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.” Because God never changes, His Promises don’t change based on the world around us. Because God does what He says He’s going to do, we have complete confidence that His Word is true and His Promises stand forever!
The most significant Promise that He’s made to us is that when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and trust in the Power of His Death, Burial, and Resurrection, we will spend Eternity with Him!
God promised us His Holy Spirit, and we know that He never leaves us nor forsakes us as He guides us and dwells within the heart of every believer.
God promises to carry our burdens and teach us His Ways in Matthew 11:28-30:
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’"
God promises that we will have an abundant life through His Son in John 10:10:
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
God has made so many more Promises in Scripture, and all of His Promises are permanent; that’s His Character, that’s who He is.
One of the most beautiful Truths of God’s Character is that His Love for us doesn’t change based on anything we do! Because He never changes (Hebrews 13:8), His Love doesn’t change for us based on our actions. What reassurance we have that God will not change His Mind about loving us when we mess up and do things that don’t honor Him!
What an incredible Truth of God’s Character that we can be thankful for! God will not change His Mind based on our actions or anything that Man can do because God is immutable – meaning He doesn’t change.
Father, we give You thanksgiving and praise today because You are God, and You are who You say You are. Because of this Truth, we have complete confidence that we are redeemed from the penalty of our sin through the Redeeming Blood and Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Father, help us to remember this Truth about You and to respond with our adoration to You. Amen.

Why does God’s being unchanging make you thankful?
As you’ve walked closely with God, how has your understanding of what abundant life means changed from when you were a new believer to now?
