Loving God With All Your Heartنموونە

Devoting all of your life to God
“Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
who seek Him with their whole heart.” (Psalm 119:1-2)
The Lord God does not tolerate other gods beside Himself. But neither does He tolerate other things beside Himself that distract our attention from the really important things. He is not content with a second- or third-rate place in our lives.
We can also phrase this positively. We are called to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our strength (see Deuteronomy 6:4-5). He is so great and good that He is more than worthy of our complete devotion! It is worth paying close attention to His instructions and actively seeking His will, as it is pre-eminently described in His Word, the Bible.
The Bible lists several things that can take the place of God. Greed for money, for example, or worry about everyday matters. We can think of other examples: our family, our work, our hobbies or responsibilities in society. These can be good things in themselves, but they should never take God's place in our lives. In that case, our priorities are skewed.
Who or what comes first in your life? Is that good, or do you need to change this? What can help you with this?
