GO TELL
After the resurrection, Jesus first revealed himself to a woman—Mary Magdalene. Jesus said to Mary, “Go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’” (John 20:17).
In a culture where women were marginalized, where a woman’s testimony wasn’t allowed in a court of law because it held no value, Jesus invited Mary to be the first to tell not only her brothers but essentially all humanity the message that is the fulcrum of history.
The significance of this moment can’t be ignored. If we believe the words God speaks are inspired and breathed into with his very essence (2 Timothy 3:16–17), then we must believe they are still echoing over humanity today.
So, what is it we’ve been entrusted with?
Resurrection.
We’ve been commissioned by God as women to speak resurrection over graveyards and lifeless situations.
The words Jesus spoke to Mary haven’t weakened in their power or potential. No matter where you are on your journey, whether you are confident and filled with faith or weary and your faith has been shaken because of the battle, these words have the power to shift your perspective.
Jesus intentionally appeared to a woman first, so that you would know the value and authority on your voice as a follower of Jesus. You have a calling and an assignment of leadership alongside men as we build the kingdom of God together. The Head of the church, Jesus, has entrusted you, friend, with a voice weighted with resurrection.
Go tell.
What areas of your life have been buried in a graveyard of disappointment, hiding your potential and silencing your voice? How might God be calling you to speak resurrection?
