The Power of Forgivenessنموونە
Dealing with Self-Judgment
The judgment we place on ourselves is often harsher than the judgment of others. The phrase "with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" applies not only to how we judge others, but also to how we judge ourselves. When we judge ourselves mercilessly, we place a heavy burden on ourselves, making the process of self-forgiveness difficult.
Our hearts can be very cruel judges, causing us to carry guilt and shame for years. These feelings imprison us, preventing us from experiencing the freedom that forgiveness brings. We need to learn to be kinder to ourselves, to practice emotional and spiritual self-care. Acknowledging our mistakes is necessary, but we must also accept that we are beings in constant transformation.
When we judge our mistakes with mercy, recognizing that we can learn and grow from them, we create space for forgiveness. This frees us from carrying the weight of the past and prepares us to move forward with more lightness and clarity. Harsh judgment only holds us back from reaching the potential that God sees in us. Forgiving yourself is, in large part, deciding to stop judging yourself so harshly.
