Day 12: Choosing Love Over Bitterness
**Reflection:**
Bitterness is a dangerous enemy in marriage, but love is the antidote. Hebrews 12:15 warns us about allowing a bitter root to grow, as it can cause trouble and defile many. Bitterness can poison your marriage, leading to resentment and division.
Ephesians 4:31-32 encourages us to eliminate bitterness and replace it with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Choosing love over bitterness means letting go of past hurts and choosing to forgive, just as Christ has forgiven you.
Colossians 3:13 reminds us to bear with each other and to forgive grievances. In marriage, this means choosing to love your husband even when he falls short and to forgive him as the Lord forgives you.
Today, choose to uproot any bitterness in your heart and replace it with love. Ask God to help you forgive and to love your husband with a pure heart.
**Prayer:**
Lord, help me to choose love over bitterness in my marriage. Uproot any bitterness in my heart and replace it with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. May our marriage be filled with Your love and grace. Amen.
