GOD MATH: A Family Devotionalنموونە
1 Jesus + 3 Nails
The only person who was ever completely full of God’s love, joy, and kindness was beaten up and nailed to a cross. On that day, a lot of weird things happened. First, there were 3 hours of darkness. Then, in the actual moment, Jesus died, the enormous curtain in the temple ripped from top to bottom, an earthquake rattled the land, tombs broke open, and a Roman soldier proclaimed Jesus as God.
This all happened because Jesus chose to die for us. Why did Jesus go through all this? The Bible tells us he did it because he wanted to restore our friendship with him and this was the only way. Now that Jesus has died and come back to life, we get to have a real relationship with God, without our nasty sin getting in between us. That’s why the earth rattled, the temple curtain ripped, and a Roman soldier recognized who Jesus was: because everything had changed.
1 Jesus + 3 Nails = Defeated death
