Day 7: “The Other Side of Freedom - Unlocked Identity”

Over the past six days, you have been on a journey to embrace freedom and unlock your identity. Now, what are you going to do on the other side of experiencing this freedom as you live into who God has created you to be?

In Psalm 34:8, David declares, “Taste and see that Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” He writes this on the other side of freedom. He is saying, I have experienced this, and it's not just for me - it's for others too. Similarly, after being released from jail in Acts 4, Peter and John share the message of liberty through the power of the Holy Spirit.

There is something dynamic when a person who has experienced freedom shares that possibility with others.

Dao, now 24, is an example of how to live on the other side of freedom. As a teenager, she was exploited. Once rescued, she walked a journey that led her to forgive her parents and return home to witness to her mom and lead her to Christ.

Dao began serving in ministry, caring for other survivors of human trafficking. Speaking four languages and attending university, she noticed that God had led her to work with many children, saying, “When they grow up, they will walk the right path.” She is now a missionary serving to bring the Gospel to people in other countries.

How will you live on the other side of freedom? Will you, like David, Peter, John, and Dao, use your voice, skills, and passion to help others see that they, too, can be free? As you look around, who is it that you are positioned to bring freedom to so that they also can unlock their identity in Christ?

Father,

Thank You for freedom. Thank You that I am Your child and that because of You, I am free and whole. Help me to live on purpose as I live on the other side of freedom. As Your dearly loved child, show me who I am in You and how I can live my life for Your glory. Help me to see how I can use my voice, skills and passion to help others know You and experience the freedom that You bring.
