A Prayer for Salvation and a New Life in Christ with Pastor DeeDee Heckard

Do you want to help others develop a personal relationship with the Lord through prayer? Offer to pray this prayer with them.

Father, I need You to save me. I am tired of living for myself and the enemy that keeps influencing my heart. Change my mind. Help me to stop fighting against myself. I believe You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue me from my sins. Forgive me for all I’ve done against You and the people You love. Also, help me to forgive those who have done wrong to me, too.

Since Jesus took the punishment for my sins, I am choosing from this day forward to live for Him and learn from Him. I know that love had to be the reason He allowed them to torture Him, and although I may not be able to grasp the depth of that choice, I know I want a new life with that kind of love. Thank You, Father, for the opportunity to have a new life. Thank You for making me new and for changing my heart. Thank You for creating me, loving me, and giving me my life’s purpose back.

Lord, help me to enjoy an authentic relationship with You. Show me what it means to be a follower of Christ. When I start to get in my own way, pull me back toward Your love. I don’t want to make this complicated. I need Your help so that I don’t give up and go back to what has been familiar to me. I need help to love and trust You. Father, help me to fight against the sins and all the things that had me bound in darkness before You rescued me. I trust that everything that is ahead of me is better than anything I’ve left behind. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
