Zacharias' Prayer for a Child

Have you ever felt like, despite doing everything right, you couldn’t get the desired result? Zacharias, a priest, and his wife Elizabeth knew how that felt.

They were righteous before God but had no children, even though they really wanted them. They were also old, and definitely not getting any younger. Even so, Zacharias prayed for a child.

One day, as Zechariah was serving in the temple, an angel appeared to him and announced that his prayer had been heard—Elizabeth would bear a son, John the Baptist.

This story reminds us of God’s power and faithfulness, even when the things we hope for seem impossible. Like Zacharias, we can trust God's timing and remain faithful in prayer, knowing that his plans often exceed our expectations.
