Glory: Giving God What He Deservesنموونە

God doesn’t just rescue us from sin and then leave us to figure out how to glorify Him. No, He has given us His Word, the Bible, to help us dive deep.
Contrary to popular belief, the Bible is more than a history book, love letter, reference tool, or instruction manual. It is a means by which we commune, or enjoy intimate fellowship, with God. The Bible is God’s Word. More than a record of what He said, the Bible is God’s very essence expressed through language. When we interact with it, His Holy Spirit reveals to us God’s nature and character, helps us understand Him, and grows our relationship with Him.
However, this miracle doesn’t just happen. We have to take the time and put in the effort to read, study, meditate on, and memorize the Bible for ourselves. We can’t rely on others to do it for us. That’s like asking someone else to make friends for you. It just doesn’t work. Plus, it’s getting harder and harder to know which of the people who claim to know and understand the Bible, actually do. These days, many are more worried about maintaining a sizable fan base than correctly handling the truth of God’s Word.
So, before you swallow what anyone says and take it to heart, check it against the Bible yourself. Spend time. Be intentional. Come to God with your questions, and He will answer them as you are ready.
Then, as you gain knowledge, apply it.That’s what true Christians do. Yes, salvation is the free gift of God, but it requires surrender, which manifests itself in obedience. If a person doesn’t obey God, that’s a problem. It suggests they might not have surrendered in the first place, and if they never surrendered in the first place, they were never saved.
