Elements of Worshipنموونە
knowing <-----> known
Authentic worshipper, try to fathom with me: our vulnerable and hospitable God actually invites us to search out the mysteries of His Person. At His beckoning we reach into His heart, seek His face, and experience His humility and glory. We can know Him in ever-increasing measure. Responding to what we discover is the heart of worship.
But the reciprocal is also true. In worship we are invited to intentionally stand still and yield ourselves to our God’s penetrating eyes. In so doing we invite Him to search us and know our heart (Ps. 139:23). Sometimes in the unveiled depths of His gaze, we can feel like backing away or covering ourselves as Adam and Eve did. But why do we fear to vulnerably open our trembling being to the one who created us and redeemed us for Himself?
God deals in truth for He is Truth. He presents His real self to each of us and asks us to present our real selves to Him. In the tension of this vulnerable place is authentic worship—face to face in spirit and in truth. Unveiled God. Unveiled me. Pure worship.
An Invitation
Choose a quiet moment in your day to sit before the Lord uninterrupted. Ask Holy Spirit to help you remove one of the veils that separates you from transparent fellowship with Him. When you are ready, ask: Lord, what is one way You want me to know You more? Lean in and wait expectantly. Then ask: Lord, what is one thing You love about me? Write down and treasure what He says.
About this Plan
Jesus desires and deserves our worship. What a joy to minister to Him for who He is and what He has done. This plan helps us broaden and deepen authentic worship.
