Connecting With God: A 5 Day Devotional

DAY 2 OF 5

Prayer is an area of struggle for many people, and that’s usually because some people feel intimidated by it. Some feel as though they don’t know how to pray and may question whether God hears them or not. For others, it just feels awkward.

One of my greatest struggles with prayer was whether God really heard me. That struggle came with a deep sense of unworthiness, which at times was a barrier to connecting with God and stopped me from praying authentically and frequently.

Why do we pray?

We pray, firstly, because God commands us to. But prayer is also a spiritual discipline that develops spiritual strength. Without prayer, we become weak and more susceptible to sin and the enemy's schemes. Prayer restricts the enemy from prevailing in our lives. Prayer is our weapon!

Whether you’re new to the concept of prayer or you’re trying to become more disciplined in this area. One thing is for sure: prayer is key if you desire to develop an authentic relationship with God. It is the source.

Let's Pray

Lord, give me the grace to pray. May your Spirit give me the will and desire to seek you. As I seek You, may I grow to understand who You are and Your heart towards me. Amen
