What Matters Most (The Book of 2 Timothy)نموونە
REFLECT
Have you ever played the old game of “telephone?” Players sit in a circle, and the first player whispers a statement into the ear of the next player. The statement is then repeated in whisper mode, one person at a time around the circle until finally, the person who started the chain is told aloud what the last player heard in his ear. The objective is to try to keep the truth going around the circle. This game is usually more about how funny it is to hear the far-fetched ending statement from the beginning.
As Paul continues his letter to Timothy, today’s verses remind us of “telephone.” Paul admonishes to remember the truth and never waver from it. He also lists some of the “friends” who left him over the course of his journey and how many believers discarded the truth.
Standing strong for the truth of God’s Word can cost us friendships, acceptance, and more. Asking the Holy Spirit for help is a powerful tool, whether in the moment or over the course of life!
PRAY
