You Will Comfort

You are my comfort, Holy Spirit. You were sent to love me with compassion and care. Please speak the truth to me and help me endure what lies ahead. I know the truth about the world I live in - it is in a state of decay, and men are full of wickedness. This I know will not relent.

In light of this, I ask that you give me endurance and a plan for how to overcome. I am saddened by the state of this world, but I know it grieves you more. You will come back and make this right, and you will comfort your people.

Jesus, judge of men’s intentions, you destroy the works of the wicked and remove them from around me. You have the authority to deal with the enemy, and I praise you for your good works. It is of great comfort to me that you are the judge and executioner. You are full of mercy, kindness, and understanding, but you will not put up with rebellion either.
