A Life That Makes Room for Godنموونە
Helped.
The next thing Elisha told the woman to do was to ask for help.
She was in the middle of a crisis, probably feeling ashamed and afraid of anyone knowing her predicament, yet he told her to go and speak to her neighbors. She was to ask for their empty jars.
God wanted to do a miracle for her, but she could only receive the fullness of that miracle if she opened up to her neighbors and let them help her.
The life of Christian commitment isn’t a solo sport. We need others – friends, neighbors, brothers, and sisters in Christ – to help us receive all that God wants to give us.
Today, pause to ask for forgiveness for the times when you’ve tried to shut others out and rely on your own resources.
