Fostering the Holy Spirit
Developing a strong relationship and partnership with the Holy Spirit is the most practical way to become a better and more anointed creative.
Similar to Bezalel, we see that the Spirit of the Lord came upon Othniel (Judges 3) supernaturally for a very specific purpose. We also read in 1 Samuel 16:13 that the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward, equipping him to fulfill the task of kingship to which God had called him.
It’s important to notice that in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon people for a very specific purpose or to accomplish a specific task. It wasn’t until Jesus and the day of Pentecost that the Holy Spirit dwelt within every believer. (Joel 2:28-29)
Walking in a full, abundant life of the Holy Spirit has to start with awareness. If we are unaware, there are no opportunities for a pursuit.
The next step for partnering with the Holy Spirit is living a life of holiness. We don’t like to talk about holiness or purity or even repentance because it can get painful. It causes us to take a hard look into the depths of our soul and deal with internal struggles that have held us captive for years. (John 16:8)
Finally, you're ready to walk in authority. This goes much further than just being aware of the authority—we have to believe in it. He will always equip us for what He is calling us to do. Step out in faith and authority as you start that next creative project. If He is calling you to pray for someone, ask for faith and He will give it to you through His Spirit. If He is calling you to encourage someone, ask for words of prophecy and He will give it to you through His Spirit. If He is calling you to step up and lead in a situation, ask for wisdom and He will give it to you through His Spirit.
