Light Blockers
You were designed to radiate. Yet, the grip of fear, self-doubt, and inadequacy can hinder us from fulfilling our purpose of being a beacon of light.
Insecurities rooted in our past and perceived limitations about our abilities can become obstacles that keep us from shining as light. The longer we permit feelings of fear, self-doubt, and inadequacy to determine who we are, what we can do, and who we can serve, the less impact we can have in this world.
Moses, one of the most outstanding leaders of all time, dealt with fear, self-doubt, and inadequacy. After fleeing from his home and life as part of a royal family in Egypt, he lived in a foreign land for decades, looking after sheep.
One day, he sees a bush engulfed in flames but not burning up, so he goes closer to check it out. This led to an encounter with God, and God told Moses to return to Egypt and lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. He was calling Moses to be the light.
Moses was afraid and protested repeatedly to God, citing reasons from his past and his inability to communicate eloquently before people. He even pleaded with God to send someone else.
Many of us can empathize with Moses' emotions. The prospect of being a light can seem daunting, and from a human perspective, it is.
Despite his fear, self-doubt, and inadequacy, Moses moved forward, trusting in God's presence and support.
Like Moses, rest assured that God is with you as well. The greater one in you has more power than any fear, self-doubt, or inadequacy you feel today.
