It's Ok to Be Disappointed, but Don’t Stay There, Overcome!

DAY 2 OF 3

I was in a season in my life where I was believing God for a specific promise. It seemed like everyone around me was receiving the promise I was waiting for. I felt like God had forgotten about me. I almost fell into the disappointment trap, but God reminded me of Hannah.

Although Hannah was barren, she was the preference of Elkanah. Every year, when they went up to worship, he always gave her a double portion. As I was thinking about Hannah and how she felt tormented by Penninah, I saw myself. I was tormented watching the promise given to me being received by others. Penninah had the very thing that Hannah's heart was desiring.

I'm sure a sense of bitterness started to take root, as it would with anyone, but Hannanh knew what steps to take to overcome and receive her promise. Hannah poured herself out on the altar and promised to return her son to the Lord if He would remember her. God did as she requested, and He remembered Hannah. Hannah kept her promise and returned Samuel to the Lord when he was of age.

I just wanted to remind you that God has not forgotten you. I know you feel tormented because you see the desires of all those around you being fulfilled, but just as God remembered Hannah, He remembers you, and He prefers you. Hannah's desire was a son, but God wanted a prophet. What does God want with the desire you feel tormented by? It's much bigger than you know. God is remembering you in this season. Get ready for a double portion.

Think It Over!

Did you know that it was God that closed Hannah's womb? Will you trust God when it seems He has forgotten His promise to you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I feel unseen and forgotten. Everywhere I look, I see someone receiving Your promise. God, If You will remember me as You remembered Hannah, I will dedicate my promise back to you. In Jesus' Name, Amen

About this Plan

It's Ok to Be Disappointed, but Don’t Stay There, Overcome!

Disappointment, in one way or another, happens to us all. How we process the disappoint determines if it will be the foundation for God to do a miracle or if it will be an anchor that weighs us down.
