Dinner With Jesus

DAY 3 OF 30

Jesus ended this conversation with Simon the Pharisee by pointing out the great love of the woman who tended to Him. Her worship of Jesus may have seemed like an embarrassing display to Simon or others who were at the table. But for the woman, nothing made more sense than to show her affection and devotion to Jesus in this way. As Jesus said, her display of great love and devotion was in response to what she had received.

In the same way, our worship is an outpouring of gratitude for what has been done for us. Our worship is not something we do because we have to. It’s something we can’t help but do because of what has been done for us. This woman was so grateful, she lost all sense of herself and didn’t care what others around her thought. She worshipped because she couldn’t not worship. Spend some time thinking about what God has done for you and what an authentic expression of worship of God might look like in your life.
