5 Days to Finding More Peaceنموونە
Finding Peace in the Nature of Christ
We can be easily discouraged. At times we place more faith in what we see than we do in Christ and his nature. Fear takes over; we begin to trust in our own abilities instead of Jesus’s abilities.
Jesus’s nature displays confidence at all times. Because he is the Son of God, he has godly attributes that we can trust. We see this example in Mark 4 when Jesus and his disciples crossed the sea. When the wind caused the sea to fiercely rock the boat, the disciples became afraid. Jesus couldn’t understand why the disciples were so fearful and even went as far as to question their faith in him in Mark 4:40.
Hebrews 11:1 says that faith is the substance of things hoped for. Our very hope is placed in God as our heavenly Father, in the fact that he is in control of everything. We don’t need to fret or allow any challenges we encounter to sway our faith in him because we know that God has given us Jesus as our example. Our faith in God through Jesus allows us to be at peace with whatever condition we might face in the moment. As we tap into our God-given peace, we can also take on Christ’s nature — we can display confidence in him and his love. We can look for ways to show others that we actually have confidence in Jesus. Today, let’s commit to displaying more faith in God than what we face and share that dependence with others.
