What Jesus Said About Spiritual Warfareنموونە
The kingdom of darkness
Let us be aware of what the Bible says about the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light so that we can be prepared for this spiritual battle.
How are Satan and the demonic world described? Satan's names describe his works and his kingdom. Here are some of his names. In the same way, the names and acts of Jesus describe the kingdom of light.
1. Satan is called the "accuser" of the brothers (Revelation 12:11). Jesus calls us his friends and sent us an Advocate, a Helper, His Spirit, to be in us and to guide us in all Truth (John 16:7) and direct our attention to Jesus' victory on the cross and the power of His resurrection.
2. Satan masquerades as an "angel of light," trying to deceive the elect -- 2 Corinthians 11:14-15. Jesus Himself is the Light that came into the world and showed us how to walk in the light (John 8:12).
3. The prince of this world (John 12:31). Jesus came to destroy the power of Satan, and in Revelation 19:16. Jesus is called the King of kings and the Lord of Lords.
4. He is called a serpent (2 Corinthians 11:3). While Satan is a serpent, Jesus is the Most High God, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
5. A thief (John 10:10a), but God is that Giver of all good gifts (Luke 11:11).
6. A roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8). Jesus is the Lion of Juda and the Lamb that was slain - and as the Lamb that was slain, he gained victory over darkness and the evil one (book of Revelation).
7. Beelzebub is the commander of demons (Matthew 12:24). Jesus is the commander of the armies of heaven (Revelation 19:11-14).
9. The evil one (Matthew 13:38). God is good, holy, full of grace and mercy (Exodus 34:6-7).
10. The prince of the powers of the air (Ephesians 2:2). Jesus sits at the Father's right hand, where he rules and reigns with the Father.
11. The destroyer (Revelation 9:11). Jesus is the Healer (Matthew 15:30); He restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes us (1 Peter 5:10).
12. A murderer and liar (John 8:44). Jesus came to give abundant and eternal life (John 10:10).
Some people live in total ignorance of Satan and his works. Others are fascinated by it. We must avoid both. Preach Jesus, and when Satan or his demonic hosts cross your path, deal with it and continue to focus on Jesus.
About this Plan
Spiritual warfare is a relevant subject for all Christians. The problem is that many people are fascinated by it, and others ignore it. In the following Reading plan, there are some practical guidelines.
