Perfect Father

God is more than Creator. To some, He is also Father.

Holy, or perfect, God is also loving, showing mercy and grace to those who do not deserve it and helping those who cannot help themselves.

God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. Unfortunately, the sin that Adam’s rebellion in the Garden of Eden brought into the world separates us from this loving God, and nothing we could ever do would be good enough to bridge the gap it creates and reconcile us to God.

God made a way for us to cross the chasm that was created. He sent His perfect Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin on the cross then raised Him from the dead. In doing so, He conquered spiritual death, the due penalty for sin, and made a way for us to be saved and have a relationship with Him now and forever

Those who accept God’s free gift of salvation by putting their faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection and making Him their boss are permanently adopted into God’s family. They become His children, coheirs with Jesus Himself.

• As God’s image bearer, which is more difficult, reflecting God as Creator or God as Father? Why?
