Through God's Eyesنموونە
There are so many good things in this world that we can do to demonstrate God’s love for others. Matthew 5:16 tells us that we must demonstrate some of the love of God, or our words will lose power. But the good can become the enemy if it squeezes out all of our motivation, time, resources, and energy. We must remember the importance of the Gospel message and prioritize it so that we can avoid ending up accomplishing just good things at the expense of the best thing.
One of the first things Paul tells us is that he was called to preach the gospel and point people to the cross. If this is not fundamental to our lives and sharing about Jesus, then this is a problem. If you’re not leading people to the cross, you’re ultimately leading people to yourselves. And that is not the gospel message.
An important part of the Christian life is that we must be under sound teaching, leadership, and discipleship. To be surrounded by other Christians who can, as Proverbs 27:17 tells us, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” To ensure that what we are reading and studying is applied correctly. No one wants to hear the gospel message be shared incorrectly or changed to fit about themselves.
Paul would write to the Galatians (Galatians 1:6-12) people a letter in which he would directly call them out for changing the gospel message and quickly deserting it. Our role is not to win the approval of men but of God. It’s so important that we understand the gospel and that we share it correctly.
If you’re wondering what that is, it’s simply this: God loves you so much. He doesn’t like that we are separated from Him because of sin. He made a way for us to connect with him. By simply putting our faith (belief) in Him, we can be made right and have eternal life.
That is simply one way to share the gospel message. It aligns with God's truth.
But above all, we must stand firmly on the truth of the Gospel. We must not allow false teaching and doctrine to push out the truth. We must have the courage to call it out. And serve others. We can preach through our actions. God has given us the ability to serve people in different ways, whether it’s a physical need or a spiritual need.
He has equipped us and you to preach the good news and serve the body.
