Make Up Your Mind: 4 Decisions That Will Transform Your Walk With Godنموونە
Murky Obedience
"I choose to walk in compliance over clarity."
How do you follow God's will, even when the path is unclear? In John 12 and the events of the Passion Week, we see Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, a moment filled with prophetic significance yet not fully understood by His disciples at the time.
"Murky obedience" is the essence of following Jesus. Obedience even when our understanding is incomplete. Obedience to walk in the Spirit even when it doesn't make sense in the flesh. The disciples' experience during Jesus' entry into Jerusalem is a prime example. They were tasked with fetching a donkey, a simple act that held profound prophetic meaning unknown to them at the moment. Despite the lack of clarity, their obedience shows us the power of compliance over understanding.
Whether it is a calling to ministry, moving to a new city, taking a new job, or leaving a comfortable job–compliance is more important than clarity. We might not see the whole picture or the end goal, but we can trust that when we follow God's call, even when it's unclear, we won't be left hanging. God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Walking with Jesus often involves embracing uncertainty and trusting that His plans, though unorthodox, are always for our good and His glory.
So get on your tiptoes, and be ready! Be prepared for God to use you in ways you might not anticipate. Create space in your life—financially, temporally, emotionally—for God's purposes. This readiness is not about understanding the master plan but about following the Master daily.
Choosing compliance over clarity is a call to trust God's unorthodox methods and follow Him even when the path is unclear. It's a journey of faith over sight, where we learn to say "yes" to God, embrace the treasures hidden under the cross, and find joy in the journey, knowing that one day, whether in this life or the next, we will understand the fullness of His plans for us.
