God's Redemption Story (Judges - 2 Samuel)

DAY 5 OF 30

Gideon - 5/5

Gideon was afraid to engage the Midianites in battle, and we can all understand why. He had three hundred men and the enemy had more camels and men than could be counted. Common sense said he was sure to lose. But then he overheard the Midianites talking about a dream that guaranteed Gideon would defeat them, and he was suddenly ready to charge boldly into battle. Like reading the last page of a book, Gideon knew with certainty how the story would end.

We can have that same confidence about our own story. We know already that Jesus defeated sin and death for us when he paid our price on the cross. The Bible also tells us that one day Jesus will defeat Satan completely and take us home to heaven. If you are fearful of what could happen today or tomorrow, rest in the certainty that the last page of God’s book says you win.
