The Spirit Maketh Intercessionنموونە
The Spirit Maketh Intercession.
”Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.“ Romans 8:26 KJV
The Holy Spirit—helps our infirmities. He helps our weaknesses. For He knows what we need—before we ask. The Spirit (The Holy Spirit) makes intercession for us. For He intercedes on our behalf—with groanings which cannot be uttered.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Groanings” used in Romans 8:26 KJV is, ‘stenagmos’ (G4726) which means, “Sigh”. When words can’t express your innermost thoughts and feelings—the Holy Spirit steps in and reaches into the innermost depths of your spirit—and comes to your aid. When words aren’t enough—the Holy Spirit groans—for He intercedes on our behalf.
The Amplified Version puts it this way, “So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.“ Romans 8:26 AMPC.
The Holy Spirit intercedes. When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, and you don’t know what exactly to ask for—the Holy Spirit will intercede on your behalf. Pray in the Spirit.
Romans 8:26 NLT puts it this way, “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.“ The Spirit intercedes on your behalf.
