Commitment

As we continue the journey unpacking the upside down qualifications for leadership we run into the concept of commitment.

It appears that several core items regarding commitment can be discerned from this one verse. The first is the concept of team. As we see from the Hebrews' writer, the priest was selected to serve on behalf of others. This took resolve and an unwavering commitment to serve others at whatever cost it takes.

The second area that manifests is trust. As leaders are committed to serving others and helping the team be successful, a natural byproduct is trust. Trust is a rare commodity amongst leaders today, and it can so quickly be diminished. We can see that the people brought their needs to the priests and they also trusted them to do the job accordingly.

The final area to consider regarding commitment is the idea of loyalty. We know that the priests in this time were loyal to the responsibility that was bestowed upon them, and as leaders today, that should transfer over to our daily walk. A leader who can be relied on no matter the circumstances will make a tremendous impact. This one verse shows us how being a leader focused on commitment will produce fruit in our lives of the team, trust, and loyalty.
