Peace Keeps The Miracle
In the book of Mark, there is a very familiar story of the woman with an issue of blood. This woman had suffered for twelve years searching out doctor after doctor with no signs of relief. Every day she was becoming weaker and losing life, she was embarrassed and outcast because of the laws of her day. Her situation would be deemed as impossible, hopeless and beyond repair. Her issue had not only made her weak, but she ran low in finances, she was in dire straits and in need of a miracle. The story tells us she heard reports of Jesus and the supernatural miracles happening in the community. Her faith grew, and a glimmer of hope was sparked deep within. Only the Prince of Peace could cause faith to arise in the heart of the hopeless and desperate.
She heard Jesus would be passing by her and she pressed through the crowd to touch the healer, and she succeeded. As she touched Jesus' garment, she was immediately healed, and this drawing down of power from Jesus caused him to stop to discover who had touched him. The woman was afraid and came forth to show herself, and at this point Jesus spoke these powerful words," And he said to her, Daughter, your faith (your trust and confidence in Me, springing from faith in God) has restored you to health. Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your [distressing bodily] disease." (Mark 5:34)(AMPC)
Jesus said her faith caused a miracle of healing, but then he said, "Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your [distressing bodily] disease." The word into in the Greek is "en, " and it means to step into (Dictionary by Vines). For example, step into a house, so Jesus implied that for her to keep the miracle of healing, she would have to now step into the realm or place of perpetual peace, inner peace. Often we receive divine healing at a prayer meeting, worship service or miracle crusade. We feel the healing touch of God, but once we leave the atmosphere of God's presence we forget, and trials and troubles of everyday life rob us of the miracle. The grace of God gives us everything freely, but the peace of God keeps all that God gives. Inner peace is equal to a happy life; inner peace is not dictated by outward circumstances but by knowing and operating in the inheritance we received from the Prince of Peace.
"A great many people are trying to make peace, but that has already been done. God has not left it for us to do; all we have to do – is to enter into it." Dwight L Moody
