Nothing Is Impossible

DAY 7 OF 7

God is the power behind every one of His promises and God is the truth behind all of His Word. His promises are, and forever will be, yes and amen. For nothing is impossible with God.

This revelation didn’t come as quickly or as easily as I would’ve hoped. As we all know, life has its ups and downs and as nice as it is to repeat the beloved verses such as Luke 1:37 in our everyday life, when the tough trials come flooding in, how often do we allow faith and comfort to be tarnished by fear and doubt? I know I have been guilty of this! So how can we remain in steadfast faith and trust in our heavenly Father? How can we look toward His complete sovereignty and provision in all situations? How can we truly live in faith and believe that nothing is impossible with God?

We see in Acts 9 a powerful testimony of God’s authority and His great, mighty plan. A story of redemption in Jesus Christ and His saving grace. One I have kept close in those times of uncertainty. Saul was a persecutor of Christians, breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples, when a sudden light emerged on his way to Damascus and the Lord appeared. ACTS 9:3. Following Saul’s encounter with the Lord, he was blinded and led into Damascus. It was here that a disciple named Ananias, who was given a vision by the Lord that told him to help Saul and restore his sight. Ananias was hesitant after hearing of this angry and violent persecutor named Saul, however, God had a plan and Ananias knew he must trust this.

With great courage, Ananias went to Saul and prayed for him. He prayed that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive his sight. Saul arose and was baptised. Following his conversion, Saul began to preach in synagogues about Jesus. Many were shocked saying, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name?” (Acts 9:21). God took one of His cruellest enemies and turned him for good. Others looked on and would’ve called Saul’s transformation ‘impossible’, but that didn’t stop God. His word and His plan was and is final.

Acts 9 is a continual reminder that nothing can come in between God’s plan, that nothing is too hard and no one is too far from God. And just like It was made clear for us in Luke 1:37, no word of God shall be powerless. God will absolutely perform what He has said. His never changing, unfailing power, control and provision over it all. The ever comforting revelation, that nothing is impossible with God. For all things are for Him and through Him and to Him.
