Love shows up in many forms, and sacrifice is one of the most powerful forms of love. When someone is willing to sacrifice what they have for others, it speaks volumes about how they feel about someone or something. A mother is one of the most outstanding examples of this. She sacrifices so much for her children: time, energy, resources, self-interests, and more. There is nothing like the sacrifices a mother makes for her children. God made the ultimate sacrifice for his children, you and me. He gave up what he loved the most -- his son, Jesus -- for us. Christmas reminds us that God's love is real, which in turn should change how we love others.

Prayer

Father, thank you for giving us your one and only son. Give me a greater revelation of your love, so I can love others sacrificially.
