Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 12نموونە
Our READING for today comes from Revelation 15. Listen to verse 3 …
And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!
This chapter opens with the promise that a time is coming when the wrath of God will have reached its full expression. His judgment on the sin of Mankind was poured out at the cross. His judgment on the religious leaders of the nation that had handed Him over to the Roman governor to be crucified would draw the chapter on the wrath of God to a close. The destruction of the temple in Jerusalem would bring an end to the religious system that had blinded people to the revelation of the Father’s love and truth of His Word over them revealed in Christ.
This verse tells us of a new generation of believers, worshipping the Lamb for His mercy on them – firstly, for their redemption from the power of sin, and secondly, for prompting them to leave the city of Jerusalem before its final destruction.
In Hebrews 2:12, we are reminded that the Leading Voice in the anthem of praise to the Father for the plan of redemption is that of Christ Himself. He is the One surrounding us with songs of deliverance. In Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, Paul encourages us to partner with Him in singing with all our hearts to the glory of God. Led by the Spirit and inspired by the Word, our hearts are filled to overflowing with joy and gratitude to the Lamb who has redeemed us by laying down His life for us.
