Weird Ideas: Jesus Christنموونە
Jesus’s kingdom is a different kind of kingdom. When people expected a triumphant conquering hero, Jesus came riding on a donkey. When people expected the overthrow of their enemies, Jesus offered peace and forgiveness. When people expected Jesus to put Rome in its place, Jesus submitted himself to death rather than kill them.
Jesus says, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). It is something decidedly different.
Trusting Jesus to rule as he sees fit can be a hard thing. Sometimes we don’t understand. Other times we think we know better. We cry, “Why do you tolerate this? Why do you allow that? Why do your people suffer? How long, O Lord. How long?” Jesus hears the cries of our heart. But he invites us to trust him. His way. Not our way. His rule, not how we think he should rule. The gospel is an invitation to believe in Jesus as Christ the King and be a part of his kingdom.
“I believe in Jesus Christ…” Put your trust in him today.

About this Plan
Christians are different. They can’t help it. When you’re in Christ and filled with the Spirit, it changes you. This leads to weird ideas and alternate beliefs about reality. This series of 5-day plans uses classic Christian Creeds as a vehicle to explain the Christian worldview compared to the world’s, and help us see reality through Jesus’s eyes.
