Called to Moreنموونە
At the beginning of this study, I shared how I was challenged in my walk as a Christian. I was doing everything I knew to do: serving in my local church, being a witness of Jesus’ love in my community, going on mission trips, etc.. But I knew that wasn’t everything I was called to do. I could do more!
It did not mean that I needed to quit my job and travel the globe, but I needed to be more than a casual observer. I needed to become invested in the Great Commission. That meant to become a Sender.
If we are invested as Senders through our prayer for a specific mission or ministry, we will know the physical needs of that mission. If we have the ability to invest resources into that ministry, we will do it. That is where our heart is. We want to partner with that mission in any way that we are able. It was the admonition that John gave the church in his letter in 3 John:
Please continue providing for such teachers in a manner that pleases God. For they are traveling for the Lord, and they accept nothing from people who are not believers. So we ourselves should support them so that we can be their partners as they teach the truth. (3 John 1:6b-8 NLT)
At the beginning of this study, I asked you: “How does someone who only speaks English, lives in the US, and needs to make a living – how does that Christian obey the Great Commission?”
The answer is: By finding a mission that lines up with the Great Commission, AND inspires your heart.
Begin by being a SENDER who prays intentionally for that mission. As you learn about the needs of that mission, God will prompt you to give of your resources and partner in that mission.
Eventually, God might provide a path for you to be a GOER as well, like he did me with OneMessage.tv and our ministry to oral learners. But know that even if that opportunity never comes, you are still responsible for YOUR part of sharing the gospel around the world. GOERS cannot go unless there are SENDERS.
PRAY:
Heavenly Father, please show me my role in obeying the Great Commission. Please align my heart with a mission that inspires me to be a partner whether that is as a Goer or a Sender.
This Bible Plan was written by Paul Wynn with OneMessage.tv. Nearly 80% of people in the world don't read well enough to understand the Bible, even if they have one in their own language. OneMessage.tv produces a library of video Bible stories, from Creation through the Resurrection, using native speakers and indigenous actors, so oral learners can see and hear the gospel in their heart language.
Check out how you can become a SENDER at OneMessage.tv .
