Surrender to the Holy Spiritنموونە
Remember, God is interested in spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
Living a life filled with the Holy Spirit is not about you making an effort to live for God but letting Him live through you.
Paul said, “It is no longer I but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). We receive salvation when we believe that Jesus died in our place on the cross, but do you know how character is developed? It results when you surrender to the Holy Spirit and give Him total access to your heart, soul, and body! Character development in the spiritual realm is a unique journey, distinguishably different from self-help or self-improvement paradigms.
It doesn’t rely on our human efforts, disciplines, or strategies. Instead, it is intimately intertwined with our relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is in the profound act of abiding, of being deeply rooted and connected to Christ, that the transformative work begins.
As we remain in Him, the virtues of the Spirit naturally blossom within us. What’s more, the fruit of the Spirit is less about external actions and more about the internal disposition – our attitude. A genuine, Spirit-led attitude goes beyond superficial actions and demonstrates a heart deeply transformed by God's love.
Reflection:
Attitude can often serve as a thermometer of our spiritual health. Reflect upon how your attitude mirrors your depth of abiding in Christ. Are there instances where you’ve witnessed a significant shift in your reactions, thoughts, and behaviors, that show your growth with the Holy Spirit? On the other hand, have there been moments when your attitudes were misaligned, indicating a possible distance from Christ's presence?
Let's Pray:
Father, let me never lose sight of the importance of abiding in You. Guide me to understand that true transformation isn't about outward actions but an inward change of heart and attitude. Empower me with the Holy Spirit to reflect Your character genuinely, making my attitude a testament to Your transformative love. Amen.
