Wounded Women: Allowing God to Lead You on Your Healing Journey

DAY 2 OF 4

Day Two: God’s grace and loving embrace for women who have been wounded

Today, let’s continue our discussion by exploring God’s grace and loving embrace for women who have been wounded.

Some people find it hard to allow God into their healing process because they do not know what life would be like without clinging to the pain. This used to be true for me.

Today, I understand that from the time we are reluctant to surrender, to when we decide to run into His arms, God is with us and he will continue to have his hand on us!

In Matthew 11:28- 30, Jesus says, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

This passage is both an invitation and a command, from Christ himself, for us to 1) go to him, 2) lay down our burdens/cares/worries at his feet, and 3) find rest in him. When we accept this invitation, we allow God to lead our healing process.

This passage reminds me of a message from one of my favorite books where the author, Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust Survivor and Austrian Psychotherapist, wrote, “We cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.”

Journal Reflection: Take a moment to reflect on your story, the passage from Matthew 11, and Frankl’s words of encouragement. In your journal, consider how your life experiences have influenced your beliefs, molded your habits, and guided your choices.

See you on Day Three.

About this Plan

Wounded Women: Allowing God to Lead You on Your Healing Journey

After reading a heavy topic in the book, "Captivating", by John & Stasi Eldredge, A. Margot Blair emphasizes the need for women to invite God into their healing journey. In this 4-day plan, A. Margot discusses God’s grace and loving embrace for women who have been wounded and how to declare biblical truth over the parts of you that are still wounded.
