How Can We Put on All God's Weapons?نموونە
Let's be honest, there's something not quite right about simply spelling out the various pieces of Christian armor in our prayers. On the other hand, have you ever experienced a difficult moment when you resolutely placed your trust in God? Have you felt and experienced, at that moment, the deep peace that comes from it and settles in your heart? Have you experienced that kind of moment when you felt carried along by the power of God with a strong demonstration of his grace to such an extent that you were greatly amazed?
Well, what happened then was that you were strengthening yourself in the Lord. This spiritual strengthening enabled God's power to clothe you in the Christian's armor, and your "spiritual musculature" enabled you to keep it on the battlefield that was your situation at the time and to go through it with triumph.
It's also important to realize that there is no such thing as "under-armor." Every believer has the same armor. The apostles and prophets had the same armor at their disposal as young Christians. The difference lies only in the understanding of how the armor works and in the spiritual maturity (musculature) of each individual.
God's weapons help us to stand firm against the wiles of the devil. It's important to stress here that the term "stand firm" in no way refers to "holding our ground" while enduring the adversary's attacks (rather as if we had to endure our Christian life). On the contrary, the term refers to the Roman military context, where soldiers advanced as a single unit, all together, with the aim of pushing the enemy out of their territory.
We don't have to suffer our Christian life; we have to seize it fully!
IT'S BY PLACING MY TRUST IN GOD THAT I BUILD UP MY SPIRITUAL STRENGTH. FROM THEN ON, GOD'S POWER CLOTHES ME WITH ALL THE WEAPONS AT MY DISPOSAL.
Our role is to place our trust in God to increase our spiritual strength. The role of the Holy Spirit is to respond to this attitude of faith. He clothes us with all of God's weapons.
But those who trust in the Lord renew their strength. They soar like eagles; they run, and are not weary; they walk, and are not weary. Isaiah 40:31
