What Is Beautiful?

DAY 2 OF 5

The Human Being

Beauty is closely linked to our nature, so let's look at the creation of man.

God created man in a special way, formed him from the dust of the ground, and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils. He also formed the woman from one of the man's ribs. But what does it mean to be made in His image and likeness?

Adam and Eve had characteristics in common with God. They felt the chemical elements, like animals, but they also understood the information. Adam named the animals, meaning they also created information. They were pure and had freedom.

Another characteristic in common is that they felt pleasure. At the end of creation, God said that “everything had become very good”, and when Eve approached the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she “saw that the tree seemed pleasant to the palate”. In the original Hebrew, the word here translated good is towb. The lexicons define it as something pleasant, but it is also translated as beautiful and good (moral).

We have come to our question, in the coming days we will analyze some of these texts.
