Chapter 7 paints a beautiful picture. The messianic army that John sees is a picture of what the church will one day be in its fullness! This means that, as God’s people, as His church, he is talking about us! Verse 9 says that there will be people from every tribe, nation, and language present before the Lord. This text hints that we won’t just be spiritual beings; our ethnicities and languages will stay with us.
This draws so much significance to the church fully being unified today as it one day will be. Just before Jesus physically left this world, He gave us a mission. He told us to take the gospel to every tribe, making disciples of all nations!
Let’s pray through the question: If Jesus is patiently waiting for all nations, His church, to unite so that we can all be reunited with Him for eternity, what can we as the church do today to reach the people directly in front of us?

About this Plan
The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
