DAY ONE- HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING

Have you ever had one of those days where it seems like anything that could possibly go wrong in your day goes wrong within in instant. You wake up, you spill your coffee on your brand new T-shirt, you get in a fight with your spouse or friend, your car doesn’t work, and so on and so on. Sometimes life just happens.

I have good news for you… when we walk with Jesus every day and every moment can have a brand new start because scripture says in Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to and end; they are new every morning: great is your faithfulness”

A lot of times it is easier to follow Jesus on the mountaintops when everything seems to be going our way, but it is when we are in the valley that our true character and passion for Jesus in a deeper way is formed. Jesus who is fully God and fully man was tempted in the Bible, but he always came back to the father. And the same is true for us, we will go through trials and tribulation, but we have a perfect father that is so kind, so good, and desires to be with you. Every day is a brand new opportunity no matter what happened yesterday to reset, to invite God into the deepest parts of your heart, and to walk in his mercy that is new every morning.

Maybe as you read this devotional today, you feel as though this week, month, or year is already a waste. Let me stop you right there. The fact that you are still breathing and alive is proof that God is not done with you. Gratitude shifts the perspective of our hearts and reminds us of the areas that God is still working in our lives when our vision gets cloudy.

MY CHALLENGE FOR YOU

My challenge for you today is to write down 10 things that you are Grateful for in your life. After you are done writing those 10 things, I want you to take a few mins and just pray over these 10 things you are grateful for. Thank God for the way that he shows up in your life, even when you might not see it in the moment. Let’s pray…

PRAYER: “Dear God, all I can say is THANK YOU. Thank you for not forgetting about me, thank you for your mercy that you show to me everyday, thank you for breath in my lungs. I ask that you would make me more aware of your presence and your goodness in my life today, in Jesus name AMEN.”
