Circumstance Proof Your Worship

Just days before my beloved pop passed away, he shared a profound insight with me: 'The veil between heaven and earth is SO thin right now.' It's a phrase that has deeply impacted me many times over. Just being very aware of the temporal nature of this world we live in and the very real fact that eternity is only a mere breath away.

From this vantage point, I present a thought: prayer and worship transcend the circumstances of our lives. The assurance of Jesus' accomplished work instills in us a confidence that, ultimately, our God reigns. Whether we're on the cusp of our last breath, grappling with seemingly insurmountable challenges, or enjoying a season of prosperity, our prayers, worship, honour, and service to God find their true North. No matter what, Our God is an awesome God.

Let's decide today to anchor our prayer and worship not solely in fleeting emotions but in the resolute conviction of our identity as followers of Jesus. As David proclaimed in Psalm 34:1 (NKJV), 'I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.' Enabled by the Spirit, this declaration is expressed in many different ways.

Consider the radical worshiper of John 4 – a broken woman thirsting for living water. She mirrors countless souls across the globe today. The world rejected her, but Jesus welcomed her. Despite her life's harsh realities, she drew from the well that never runs dry. Amid circumstances, her devotion remained unwavering.

So, if you respond to prayer invitation, allowing your heart to repeatedly approach Jesus, you'll uncover the boundless beauty, majesty, grace, and essence of His being. His depths are continually surprising.

Lord, we ask that our revelation of Your love would be greater than anything else in our world forever and ever. Amen.
