// Day 2
You Are Where You Are On Purpose
“The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.”
+ G-Man, Half-Life 2
Have you ever noticed those people who just seem out of place, like they'd rather be anywhere else than where they are at that moment? You can spot them pretty easily – they fidget during conversations or barely make an effort. It's even likely that you've been there yourself. Like when you'd rather be slaying dragons or rescuing the princess than attending a family reunion.
These kinds of low-effort situations are not without reason, though. We all do our best when we're doing stuff that lights us up inside – the stuff that brings joy, peace, and fulfillment. They call it "flow" in the business world, and it's when we're doing what we're really good at and passionate about that we go further faster.
The reality is that we often find ourselves in situations where we have to step out of our comfort zone and into spaces where we need to look back at what God has done for us and find ways to spread that love around, ultimately making a difference in those seemingly mundane moments.
There are times when life demands us to be there for others, to show compassion and understanding, even when we might feel tired or drained. It's in those moments when we draw strength from the love and support we've received from God and those around us. That's when we have the chance to pay it forward and bless others because He's blessed us.
We can get so hung up on wanting to be gaming that we miss out on what God is doing in the here and now. It's important to remember that these everyday moments hold limitless potential for greatness. Being present in the spaces we are in, regardless of our desire to be there, can help model meekness to those who may not know what it looks like.
Having fun and following your passions are great and worth your time as well, but not at the expense of investing in the people around you. Remember what we said yesterday: we are communal by nature. And who knows, maybe by fully engaging, we'll touch others' lives in ways we never expected!
Today, try to embrace the present and find meaning in where you are. Ask God to show you what He has for you right where you are. It will not only enrich your life but you will also have the opportunity to bring love and joy to those around you.
Chances are the princess you were hoping to rescue was in another castle anyway.

About this Plan
Nerds sometimes face mistreatment for liking things like comic books, movies, and video games. However, we believe that everyone has unique gifts and interests, and what you love is important because it matters to you, and you matter to God. So, if no one else tells you this, we promise it's true: Jesus Loves You, Nerd.
