The Thread: Part II

DAY 12 OF 30

Fruitfulness, Even in Harsh Circumstances

Leah was rejected due to circumstances beyond her control. However, the fruitfulness of her life was not beyond God's merciful grace. Bearing children in Leah's culture was a sure sign of God's favor.

Too often, we allow the circumstances of our lives to hinder us from living a life of fruitfulness and significance—a life to the fullest. There is no rejection, trial, or difficulty that God's grace, kindness, and goodness cannot overcome. Leah cried out of her pain to the Lord, and he heard her.

Rejection is not an excuse for barrenness. Being hated is not an excuse to make poor choices that would deepen our rejection but rather an opportunity to experience God's rescue and presence in our lives. We can live a life of fruitfulness if we cry out to God in our pain.

Question: When you experience rejection, is your first instinct to talk to God about it? Why or why not?

Prayer: Father, you know the rejection I have encountered. I bring my pain and my disappointment to you. Grant me healing for my soul and fill my life with fruitfulness that glorifies you. Amen.
