TheLionWithin.Us: How to Pursue Your Careerنموونە
Networking
Given the ever-connected world in which we live, networking with others is a skill every man needs to master.
Proverbs 20:18 illuminates the importance of networking with others. Advice from relationships with others whom we trust helps guide our paths and provides wisdom.
In our careers, our ability to network can create opportunities that we never would have considered. Networking is not just for the overly energetic extroverts! One of the best ways to network is by showing genuine interest in what others are doing and looking for opportunities to learn.
For example, take a company of interest that you would like to learn more about. A leader will find a connection to someone at that company and schedule time to ask questions. Practice active listening and treat the engagement with humility. Be honest with the individual and eliminate hidden agendas.
Demonstrating transparency and humility creates opportunities for you to learn and gain wisdom about potential future paths. This approach could lead to a new, lifetime relationship that God had in store all along. With the right intentions of the heart, God can reveal marvelous things to you through a professional network.
Question to Consider
- How do those in your network know that you are a believer?
- What are ways that you could be proactive in building a Godly professional network?
- What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
