Day 1: Meditate on God’s Might

Today we begin 21 days of fasting and prayer. Today we set our sights on seeing God’s supernatural power collide with the natural world as He responds to our prayers! Today we begin believing for mountains to move! The foundation for this kind of confident expectation comes straight out of God’s Word and from the mouth of Jesus, when he said in Matthew 21:21–22, “even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

That’s an extraordinary promise! Yet, too often we can find ourselves obsessing over the size of the mountain instead of reflecting on the magnitude of God’s might. Max Lucado gives great wisdom in writing, “Don't measure the size of the mountain; talk to the One who can move it.” Instead of giving our time and energy to rehashing how huge our problems are, let’s take God at His word and ask him to supernaturally show up and show off in our situations.

Whatever you need God to do, start this time of fasting and prayer by meditating on God’s miraculous power! Nothing is too hard for him!
