Faith: Trusting God´s Promisesنموونە
DAY 1
“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
(Psalm 27:13)
This is one of my favorite Bible verses and I believe that believing this truth is essential in the Christian life.
On most occasions, if not on all occasions, God´s promises will come with great challenges. This is to manifest the glory of God and to cause us to recognize that success is not in our strength but through the merits of Christ.
Here are some examples of men who received a promise from God but had to stand firm in faith believing they would see that promise become a reality in their life.
· God promised Abraham two things: a new land to live in and numerous offspring. During his life, Abraham lived as a foreigner in the land God had promised him, and his wife remained barren until she gave birth at a very old age.
· Moses confronted Pharaoh to ask him to free the people of Israel. Later, when the Israelites were free, Moses found himself between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army. But God always supported him and opened the sea for them.
· Caleb stumbled upon a promised land inhabited by giants. He had to fight for his promised land.
· After Moses, Joshua rose as the leader of Israel to enter the promised land. However, he found the city of Jericho had huge and well-closed walls and there were other cities with armies that Joshua had to face.
· David received God's call as king of Israel at a young age, but he had to face persecution before he became king, and even as king, he had many enemies.
