21 Days of Filiation: God, Family & Churchنموونە

LIGHTNESS
The Christian life is not heavy; it is light! Religion brings heaviness, relationship with Jesus brings relief. Resting in the work of Christ transforms everything. At the time of Jesus, the burdens of religion were destroying Israel. Many branches had sprung up in the Jewish religion bringing unprecedented weight to "God's people."
The context of Matthew 11:28-39 is about religion. Religion brings an impossible burden to bear. Jesus' teaching proposes that the Kingdom is not of the strivers (in the sense of trying to please the Father by personal effort) but by surrender and surrender. That does make a difference! When you know that you can never fully please the Father by your efforts, you are aware of the greatness of Christ's work and His sufficiency.
Free yourself from the burden of religiosity and embrace what Christ released on the Cross. We have free access to the Father, so we will be transformed and walk in the ways He has laid out for us. Life brings rubble for us to carry, but the worst rubble is that of religiosity. Close your heart to it, and definitely experience the benefits of Christ's work. Live lightly!
