21 Days of Filiation: God, Family & Churchنموونە
ABA FATHER
Aba Father! What a beautiful expression. "Aba," a word in Aramaic, means daddy or papa. Father," transliterated from the Greek original (pater), means biological father. Too beautiful! Paul intends to use this expression to say that God the Father is indeed someone available to all human beings (of all nationalities).
God's fatherhood is inclusive; the apostle Paul himself stated that the Gospel's message is God's power for everyone who believes. But there is something important to note. The expression Abba Father reveals intimacy. In the Christian life, part of our spiritual development will go through this reality. Have you been able to relate to God the Father in this way? Have you been able to be the little child of the Father? The blockers to connecting with the Father need to leave your heart. Christian living is also about developing your heart as a son.
When you know that you have a Father, everything changes! How about starting a son's journey today? Start by directing your prayers to God as your Father. The closer you reach His heart, the more assertive your journey will be. Keep this in mind: religiosity improves, and sonship transforms! Take a deep breath and say, "My Father!"
