4 Tips to Living Fully Presentنموونە
How to Make Presence a Way of Life
The second tip to living a present life and embracing your now, as outlined for us in Psalm 37:3, reads like this: “Do good.” The passage says: "Trust in the Lord and do good ...."
Doing good doesn’t mean you have to do the most good to the most people the most times. It's not a contest. No one is keeping score. But "to do good" means that the thought of "doing good" should be on your mind and show up in your actions when you can.
Now, the passage is not saying you should feel pressure to live up to something - some form of "do good" perfection. God isn’t checking off a list. Some days lend themselves to doing good more often than others. Some people lend themselves to doing good to them more so than others (am I right?)
Don’t look at it like a box to check off. To “do good” means that good is your way of life, not an event. It’s not a photo to post. It’s thinking of the greater good of others as you go about your life. (Pro-tip: to live a do-good kind of life, you have to be present enough to be open to seeing the opportunities!) If you spend your time wallowing in your own worries or focused on your next "big thing," you might miss out on the open door to do good right in front of you. Take a moment to slow down and recognize the people around you. Put down your phone and look up to notice who is around you. Be present right now. Because when you are present, you will see how God wants to use you to bless others by doing good in this very moment. When you do that, you'll be blessed in return. You'll remember that moment rather than have it lost in a whirl of countless others that have somehow passed on by.
