Screens & Soulsنموونە
Jesus deleted your sins
Food and phones have something in common. Most of us feel bad about our relationship with both of them. We struggle to enjoy them without being consumed by them. Maybe your screen time is proof that you, like many Christians, struggle to scroll in moderation.
That’s why I want to comfort your heart with our flesh-and-blood Jesus. Two thousand years ago, when Jesus saw a world broken with sin, he didn’t use some convenient, created invention to fix the problem. He could have scribbled on a scroll and sent it down from heaven. But he didn’t. Instead, He came in flesh and blood. “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Jesus gave humanity his full attention. That’s where he saw the depth of our need and his opportunity to save . . . when your friend felt ignored because you got lost on your phone . . . when your spouse wanted to talk but you were playing some trivial game . . . when you sinned on your screen. Jesus highlighted every one of your sins and dragged them to the eternal trash can.
Your sins are gone, digital and otherwise. The files are deleted. So go today in peace. Because Jesus is full of grace.
