A Kid's Guide To: Knowing Who God Isنموونە
How Big is Your God?
[In Heaven] …Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well.
Ephesians 1:21 (CEV)
In many parts of the world, it is illegal to believe in the God of the Bible. People risk their lives just to have a copy of his Word. They face being killed, tortured, or imprisoned if they say they believe in God.
How about you? Do you risk anything if you say you believe in God? Maybe you will look weird in front of your classmates or teachers. Maybe you will lose a friend.
Is he worth it? Oh yes!
We don’t usually have to face consequences for believing in God, but every day people are observing our actions—do you believe in Jesus enough to live differently? Does it change how you deal with fear when your parent deploys? Do you think God is powerful enough to be worth saying no to drugs or alcohol or other things you know you shouldn’t do? Do you see him as caring enough to want the best for you?
It’s something we all have to decide: do we believe in a God who is smarter and stronger than anything in this world? If you believe this truth, your actions must change to match what you believe. Take some time this week to think about the ways you are living like Christ and the ways you can do better. Then ask him to help you be more like him!
SPIRITUAL FITNESS TRAINING
There are missionaries around the world who are telling people about Jesus, often at great risk. Think about people or countries you can pray for this week and mark them on a printout of a world map. Then take time to pray for God to help and protect them!
PRAY
Lord, you are powerful, right, and wise. I want to live the way you want. You’re worth it!
KEEP IT GOING
